About

Hey friend

I'm Mara and I'm so grateful that you've found yourself here. I like to keep things real, authentic, comfortable, and full of
intention - this includes photography and the relationships that I build with people. I'm detailed-oriented, warm, and get an extreme sense of fulfillment from creating beautiful images.

I grew up finding comfort in the smell of developer and commercial printing paper. My dad introduced me to the world of photography and helped me develop my eye through the lens of an old canon film body. Through mentorships with other photographers, I developed my own style and deepened my love of photographing connection and emotion between humans.

I have been shooting portrait and wedding photography for close to a decade now. I work a full-time job outside of photography, so I am selective of the work that I take on. My approach is to be a documentary photographer - I want to capture feelings, emotions, and connections. I try my best to stay away from imposing trends onto those I photograph. I want your images to feel timeless and I want them to have the ability to transport you back to the moment when you look at them in forty years.

I aim to create a space where all are completely seen and respected as they are. I stand for the inclusivity, equality, and dignity of all people.

Clients who share this outlook are my best fit.
